29 posts · Joined 2005. #5 · Apr 20, 2009. My transfer case is a NP231J, doesn't have the long extension tube on the output shaft, just a cover w/bearing in it that looks kind of like a bowl. Might be the bearing you say. I removed that bearing to seal up that cover as well, will try and find a Jeep mechanic to verify.The last common leak area is the input or output seal in your transmission. It has a hole on the back with a nut (looks like a stop sighn) It has a drain and a fill on the rear side of the T-case. It also has a weep hole on the bottom near the gasket that tells you a seal is bad. Stop leak won't help it. I use a Jeep. You drive a car.
