If you follow the two heater hoses to the firewall, the heater core is just on the other side (inside), with the coolant outlet being located higher than the inlet. I guess you can get one of those backflush kits and follow its directions.Make sure you have some filter on your flushing tool like a cotton sock, socking or similar to not push the debris back into the core. To clean out that solution, your garden hose can be your friend or pour water into the core with a good funnel and hose. Using the Recirculate button helps with the heat too.…

I just replaced my heater core due to no heat on the drivers side and minimal heat on the passenger side. I had flushed the core by removing heater hoses and using a garden hose, then used the cummins approved coolant system cleaner getting engine up to temp and after cool down flushing once more--still no heat.Raise your front drivers corner where the cap is higher than the heater valve. This may require it be in a ditch at an angle or a big floor jack on the front corner. Take off the radiator cap with engine cool and start and idle truck with heat lever all the way hot.
