I will be replaceing valve springs on a chevy 350, 882 heads using comp cams Xe274 - .490 lift. What valve springs should I get and what diameter? Is 1.222 the stock diameter? Should i get that Diameter then? or should i get 1.250 or bigger? Does it make a difference? I was thinking about these becouse their cheap Erson Performence …The 882 head is the most produced chevy cylinder head over and above all other casting numbers. They were produced in the millions and if you are rebuilding a 70's era 350, more than likely it will have a set of these heads on it. on a 327 w/76cc, you'd need a heck of a dome to get the comp over 9:1. Such a piston would shrould the valves badly, reduce flow and VE, and probably be prone to pinging. you'd be way better off with a 64cc head and a flat top or 1/8" dome piston.
